Two AIIMS students expelled from hostel for ragging

Two students of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) were on Tuesday expelled from the hostel for two months for ragging their juniors.

“We have zero tolerance for ragging. The inquiry committee found misconduct and indiscipline on the part of the two students. They have been expelled from the hostel for two months with immediate effect,” Rani Kumar, dean of students at AIIMS, told IANS.

On Friday, the AIIMS administration received an anonymous call about ragging taking place in the medical college's hostel. After a surprise check, hostel wardens found juniors and seniors together in a room. Some students too had complained of ragging by senior students.

Last week, the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) here rusticated nine students for two years and expelled 10 others from the hostel for a year for ragging their juniors.
